Sigh...forget my GW stories. It's too long a history to continue anymore. Been...busy. But seriously, trust me...I've been meaning to write but it's just that...I can't find time. Been looking all over for it...finally found it hiding behind my closet. Not to mention that I was never a good 'dide and seek' player....
And so I can't find time....which means I'm busy...but busy with what?? Well here goes..
I've been doing quite a lot of reports lately....plus English report qritten in Japanese. You see, my latest English lesson (not that I learn anything except how to say it with jap accent) was about The Olympic Games....and my new lecturer, who studied in California for 2 years, and speaks with an American accent (yeah, he tried to correct me), thought it would be good if we did a 2-page report on the Olympic Games. But the irony is....although it's an english lesson, we had to do it in Japanese, which pretty much defeat the main purpose of learning English.
Why in Japanese? Well, I was near the front desk when he mentioned that we should submit our reports in English, and that's also the time when one of my friend said "wow...that must be easy for you". Then another one of my good buddy saif..."Randy, you should be learning Japanese!!!" AND THEN.....my lect said that we should submit in our work in Japanese. Great....now it's Jap lesson for me and finger exercise for em'. I keep mentioning "What's the whole point of learning English then??!!" but to no avail.....sigh....
Oh yeah, I did mention that he tried to correct me...
One time he came up to me and asked me when I started to speak English and I told him "Since birth, I sang Happy Birthday Song for myself the moment I came out" ...then we had small talks...THEN, he tried to correct my pronunciation, saying that mine isn't right. Well, I knew I should've gave in and class would've ended early but, I can't just agree to that, can I?? So, I said to him....
"Sir, it's all just a slang, just because you speak American doesn't mean you speak the with the right accent. For example, The English said they speak with the right slang, the American's says their english is the right one, and the Australians says they have the right roll of tounge....so, whose right?? Well, nobody is. Good english is when you can get your message across clearly and the recipient understands you well. Doesn't matter if we roll the Rrrr or not....don't you think so??"
Well, apparently he didn't think so... he just grunted and walked away.
Speaking of which, I think he belongs to the typical jap group, the one that worships pale skins and blonde hair, especially rednecks Americans. What's with them anyway? I know that M'sians worships Mat Sallehs too (You can get some intellegence on that from the airplane, sit beside one and you'll be invisible throughout the flight) but seriously...what's with them anyway?? I've met quite a few americans and I'll have to say that ...the more I meet, the more I disrespect them. They actually think that the world revolves around them and yes, they are arrogant for that....ignorant too. I personally met a "proud" American who almost nothing cept' Disneyland.
Oh yeah...right...back to me being busy....heh heh. Sorry I got outta the topic.
Ehem....anyway, yeah I got quite a few stuff on my hands, not to mention studies as well. Funny, last time I told my friends I study, they laughed their head off. So, reports, studies....and guess what? Exams coming this Friday!! Woo Hoo.....
PS: Woo Hoo doesn't necessary make me a nerd. Woo Hoo means during exam, we have no roll calls at 10 p.m. Roll call sucks....
